It all started because I was spending too much time searching for things in my bag.

Before BALTUS Workshop

It was after spending 20 years in the fashion world that I created the Atelier BALTUS brand. It is the culmination of a personal need: "Finding your objects in the blink of an eye in your bag"! But also the search for meaning and essentials, to move towards a fairer and more balanced way of working with suppliers and with respect for customers.

Eco-responsibility at the heart of our approach

As a leather goods brand made in France, we favor full-grain cowhide leather for its durability and vegetable-tanned leather, without chrome or aluminum salts, for a reduced impact on health and the environment. We also use dormant stocks of leather, thus minimizing waste and enhancing existing resources. Respecting both people and the planet, we guarantee ethical working conditions for our artisans and adopt sustainable production practices. Today, my daughter Juliette decided to help me with this project.

After studying digital marketing, Juliette helps me communicate and promote the brand. Together, we form a very complementary team. This project makes sense to her and strengthens our approach to creating chic, practical and sustainable pieces.
